What We Offer

Red Door Pediatric Therapy offers a functional approach to treatment that focuses on the development of each individual child. Red Door addresses functional, behavioral, and social development while incorporating fun and innovative activities. In designing our therapy approach, we have made a conscious decision not to mold your child to fit into our environment, but rather to teach your child strategies to function and communicate in all environments.

Every day new and exciting intervention strategies are being implemented in the areas of speech, language, and occupational therapy.

Our facility provides a comfortable, child-centered atmosphere; complete with individual treatment rooms, play areas, and specific areas designated for thematic activities.

Our Services

Our therapy philosophy is a unique, whole-language approach that incorporates functional, behavioral, and social development into fun and innovative activities. We provide services from birth to 21 years. We encourage early intervention, as research indicates response to therapy at an early age may greatly impact development as children grow.

Speech & Language Therapy
We provide services related to receptive and expressive language disorders, as well as articulation and phonological disorders (known as speech disorders). Many diagnoses can encompass these types of disorders, including autism, pervasive developmental disorder, Asperger’s syndrome, Down syndrome, Apraxia, and Central Auditory Processing Disorder, just to name a few. However, we extend our services to all levels of functioning, whether a child is just working on an /r/ sound, or if there are several areas of concern.

Occupational Therapy
With regard to occupational therapy, we provide services related to fine motor impairment, sensory disturbances, and self-care activities. Some children seek out sensory input through climbing, crashing and jumping. In these cases, children will often rush through tasks to the point of being unable to complete heavily sequenced activities (dressing, bathing, eating).

Finally, some children may not respond appropriately to verbal directions. When hearing and language development are found to be developing typically, tuning out unnecessary auditory information in order to focus on important auditory information may be a concern. For some children, distractibility can be related to difficulties processing sensory information.

Counseling Services
Counseling services are provided to individuals, couples, and families seeking emotional and mental health support. Counseling works with clients to improve mental health through expressing emotions and examining issues, such as grief, trauma, and difficult life transitions. Additionally, counseling is an essential intervention for mental health disorders, including ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorders, anxiety, and depression. Most importantly, counseling focuses on building a trusted relationship between counselor and client and an effective treatment plan tailored to your specific needs.  Play therapy is one of the counseling services offered. Play therapy is a tool used to address cognitive, behavioral, and emotional challenges. Counselors use play therapy to help clients better process their experiences and develop more effective strategies for managing their worlds.
