ABOUT MARY LANNING HEALTHCARE
The Family Care Center at Mary Lanning Healthcare strives to maintain the latest technology and quality care for new and expectant mothers. Featuring the OBIX Fetal Monitoring System, physicians and nurses can wirelessly monitor a live-feed of the baby’s heart rate from the nursing station and even from own home. A Level II NICU within the Family Care Center staffs more than 50 nurses, four pediatricians, two certified lactation consultants, and several certified child passanger technicians. It also features four private rooms, and has the capability for twin and triplet births.
Mary Lanning Healthcare has been serving the needs of central Nebraska and northern Kansas for nearly a century. Offering a wide range of services including cardiac care, cancer treatment, obstetrics, critical care, diagnostic imaging, inpatient and outpatient surgery, home health/hospice, pediatrics, behavioral health and more, Mary Lanning continues to provide a high standard of care through a statewide network of healthcare resources. More than 70 physicians and nearly 40 consulting/courtesy specialists contribute to this level of patient care. In addition, Mary Lanning owns and operates more than 10 outlying and specialty clinics throughout the region.
Recognized as a certified primary stroke center and one of the top inpatient rehabilitation facilities in the nation, Mary Lanning Healthcare has also received several quality and care excellence awards from the American Hospital Association and the Nebraska Hospital Association. Beyond medical services and community outreach, Mary Lanning is aligned with Creighton University School of Nursing and Nebraska Methodist College to offer a variety of post-secondary allied health programs for careers in nursing, radiology and respiratory therapy. EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES
Mary Lanning Healthcare builds a better community through the education of healthy lifestyles to promote hope, health and healing. Below is a listing of the educational opportunities for expectant and new mothers and families:
Birth & Beyond
A highly recommended, two-hour class to prepare parents for the birth of their baby. Expectant parents tour the Family Care Center and learn about the birth experience at Mary Lanning Healthcare. Labor coaches are encouraged to attend, and reservations in the eighth month of pregnancy are recommended.

Breastfeeding Class
A one-time, two-hour class for moms, dads and interested family members to discuss issues related to breastfeeding. Participants will receive a free guidebook, and discuss topics including the advantages of breastfeeding, proper latching on, milk production, breast care, nutrition and breast pumps. Recommended for expectant mothers who are in or beyond the sixth month of pregnancy.

Super Siblings
Super Siblings Class is a fun evening for young children and parents, designed to help prepare brothers and sisters for the addition of a new baby to the family. Siblings learn how to properly hold a baby, change a diaper and learn safety precautions. Upon completion, Super Siblings Class graduates receive a special certificate of completion, a color book and a practice diaper.
