Our Approach to Dentistry
Dentistry has developed major advancements in technology and we’re excited to share these changes with our patients. It’s our goal to use this progressive knowledge of dentistry to help you keep your natural teeth for life.

We realize this requires an open relationship of shared information and a commitment to good health from both the patient and dentist. It’s our desire to provide this necessary information to help you make decisions concerning your dental health.

Developing an achievable plan of prevention and correction prior to starting treatment is important to success. Our approach to dentistry is simple, honest, direct and less costly in the long run because with good planning, we know where we are going before we begin!

Quality of Care
As your dental health professionals, we pride ourselves in levels of experience through continuing education, seminars and conventions above and beyond the standards established by the state of Texas.

Quality education helps the team provide the best care possible for our patients. Likewise, the team ensures the highest standard of infection control in the office following all state and federal regulations. This protects you and us!

Jeff Bauer Family Dentistry FAQ

Q: When should moms bring children into the dentist?
A: Moms should be watching for the development of infants teeth around 3-4 months of age. As the teeth come in, moms should be cleaning them with little finger wipes, or small infant toothbrushes found at drug or grocery stores. The typical age to see children at the dentist is 2-3 years of age. These are what we call "happy visits" and are designed to welcome the child to the dental office and make them feel comfortable!
Q: Should moms be placing toothpaste on the brush for the children?
A: Yes, parents should always place the toothpaste on the brush for the children till they are able to determine that properly for themselves. Infants really don't need any if only a small dab on the toothbrush. Important to just get the plaque off the teeth.
Q: Should parents be brushing their children's teeth?
A: Yes! Children do not have the manual skills to properly brush by themselves till nearly grade school age for most kids. This means that going in and brushing their teeth for them or helping them get the missed areas is critical.
Q: What should I tell my child for the first time going to the dentist?
A: Best to keep the idea of the visit a "fun" experience. A chance for us to look at the teeth and make sure they are "happy teeth". Let the dentist and staff handle all the concerns of the child and parent. Dentistry has changed a lot over the years and has become less invasive and much more comfortable.
Q: When should moms see new teeth coming in on children?
A: Typically lower front baby teeth come in around 4-6 months of age. The rest come in at different times. Permanent teeth come in similarly, lower front teeth first around 5 1/2- 6 1/2 years of age then the rest at different times. Occasionally, permanent teeth will come in behind baby teeth and this is not a major concern. As long as the dentist can monitor this it should be fine.
