If your children are like mine, summertime means friends sleeping over.
Each week, I can count on my kids having a handful of friends sleeping over! I try to say no but this is one area where I do find myself caving.
Yes, I do complain now and then about the lack of privacy but really it's not as though I'm bumping into kids at every turn!
I also get frustrated having to replenish the pantry often with snacks - both healthy and not-so-much! But I secretly love this summertime ritual. I want my children and their friends to enjoy this part of their childhood which seems to be just flying by!
Most of their friends having been sleeping over now and again since they were six or seven! They still enjoy this truly all-American practice, even as teenagers!
I know we as parents look forward to the empty nest days but in the meantime I want to just enjoy my kids and their fiends, hearing the girls giggle and scream with delight running around on the beach as night falls, enjoying gooey s'mores while the boys boast about building the best bonfires and catching the biggest fish!
We live on a lake and do make the most of it, especially during the summer when sleepovers, bonfires, s'mores, even fishing make summertime memories everlasting! Life is good!
