It's that time of year, Black Friday shopping. While many people are looking for the lowest prices, you can still overspend. I talked with financial advisor Hannah Sorensen about some ways to still save big on the year's largest shopping day without going over our budget.
1. Have a budget.
Know how much you can spend before you start your shopping. This will eliminate the guilt for overspending.
2. Do your research!
Know where you're looking for and where to find it at the best price.
3. Use technology.
Your phone is a great tool. Most stores have mobile apps and many offer coupons and better deals when you use mobile coupons.
4. Social media is a great resource.
Follow your favorite stores on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or Snap Chat. They often often specials you will only see on social media.
5. Start early.
Many stores already have their black Friday, small business Saturday or cyber Monday ads available online or on social media already.
