While our main focus is medical and surgical treatment of ocular pathology (i.e. Cataracts, Glaucoma, Diabetic Retinopathy, Strabismus, etc.), we also have an on-site optical department and lens finishing lab that offers the highest quality contact lenses and eyeglasses for the entire family.

Edward P. Stack, M.D.
Dr. Stack founded Michigan Vision Institute in 2005. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Detroit, then attended the Stritch School of Medicine at Loyola University in Chicago. He completed his residency at the St. Louis University Eye Institute in 1995, where he was named Resident of the Year. He is board certified by the American board of Ophthalmology and a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He is also an assistant clinical professor at Michigan State University School of Medicine. Dr Stack provides comprehensive eye care including traditional cataract surgery, LenSx – laser assisted cataract surgery, glaucoma surgery, iStent – trabecular bypass stent implantation, LASIK, diabetic laser eye surgery and pediatric eye surgery.
Athear M. Alrawi, M.D.
Dr Alrawi joined Michigan Vision Institute in 2008. He is a graduate of the University Of Michigan School Of Medicine. He completed his residency at the University of California San Francisco in 2002. He is board certified by the American board of Ophthalmology and a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr Alrawi provides comprehensive eye care including cataract surgery, LenSx – laser assisted cataract surgery, glaucoma surgery, iStent – trabecular bypass stent implantation, and diabetic laser eye surgery.
Kelly C.K. Tierney, O.D.
Dr. Tierney is a state licensed Doctor of Optometry who joined Michigan Vision Institute in 2012. She is a 2007 graduate of the Michigan College of Optometry at Ferris State University. Dr. Tierney brings optometric knowledge from extensive training at the Detroit Veterans Administration Hospital, Pawnee Indian Health Clinic in Oklahoma and an Ophthalmology practice in Ohio. At Michigan Vision Institute, Dr. Tierney provides comprehensive medical-based eye care on patients of all ages. She co-manages patients directly with Dr. Stack to provide seamless pre- and post-operative care for glaucoma, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration and strabismus. Having two small children, Dr. Tierney knows the importance of children’s eye health. She provides pediatric eye examinations on infants and children with vast knowledge in the treatment and management of amblyopia, esotropia, exotropia, blocked tear ducts, styes, red eyes, trauma, congenital cataracts and congenital glaucoma. Dr. Tierney is available for same day emergency eye care needs.
