No matter what time of year, there is always something to do in the great outdoors in Madison, Wisconsin. If you visit during the winter, give cross country skiing or ice skating a try. There are also many great sled hills.

There are some don’t-miss-stops that should be on your list regardless of what season you visit.

Madison is the capital of Wisconsin and the capitol building and its 13 acres of beautiful grounds make for a great stop.

During summer months, visit the world class Farmer's Market that surrounds the capitol every Saturday morning -- and make sure you try some cheese curds!

Also on the capitol square is the Children’s Museum for interactive fun rain or shine. Take a stroll down iconic State Street, connecting the capitol with the University of Wisconsin.

Downtown Madison is an isthmus, which is land between two lakes. Enjoy the amazing lake views from the UW’s Union Terrace where you can enjoy some world-famous Babcock Hall ice cream.
