Packing up the family and heading to grandma’s house? Make sure you and yours are good guests by following these dos and don’ts.
First up, dos. Do bring your host or hostess a gift. Make your stay a maximum of five days. Offer to pay or split the bill if you dine out, and clean up after yourself and your children. Rent your own vehicle, and research the area ahead of time to find ideas on what to do.
And now for the don’ts.
Don’t smoke, don’t extend your stay, don’t complain, don’t become a responsibility and don’t expect the host family to babysit, and finally don’t bring your pet. And remember, a thank you goes a long way. It’s also nice to return the favor. Invite your host family to visit you soon.
