Popular app may expose kids' videos to public

Have you heard of Music.ly? It’s a popular music app where kids share music videos – but unbeknownst to many parents – anyone can see them if certain safeguards aren’t in place.

Many kids make Music.ly videos on a regular basis, and part of how many likes and fans they get is a big thrill. And while the intention is to share these videos with kids their own age, strangers can have access to them as well.

Parents can first protect their children by making sure the account is set to private, not public. Additionally, it's important to limit the ability of people who can contact your child through the platform. Teach children not to accept friend requests from anyone they don't know.
