Our therapeutic riding program is designed to meet the specific needs of each participant. The prescribed program may include grooming, saddling, and learning riding skills or may be passive in nature. With some riders we position them so the movement of the horse can relax tight muscles, increase range of motion, improve trunk stability, and balance. These individuals are not learning riding skills but they are reaping great benefits just from being on the horse. Click here to learn more. |

STAR’s Changing Strides Life Skills program provides the tools for at-risk youth (ages 13-21) to better manage their lives and foster positive relationships. Through partnership with a horse, students learn problem solving, communication, social skills, anger management, positive values, self worth, leadership skills and academic achievement. They also develop a commitment to community, reduce peer dependence and expand life skills. Click here to learn more. |

Heroes & Horses is an equine assisted activity for veterans with disabilities. Helping the participants are fellow veterans who understand the military mindset thus providing fellowship and support. If you are a wounded warrior or know someone who might be interested in enrolling have them contact their VA Rehabilitation Counselor, their VA OIF/OEF Outreach Coordinator (865) 670-2376 or their local VET center (865) 545-4680. |

'Minis’ are a breed of horses and donkeys that are miniature in size. Standing not much taller than the average dog, minis are gentle, easy to handle, and love attention. The goal of Minis In Motion is to expose more people to STAR and Equine Assisted Activities by traveling with the animals to schools, rehabilitation centers or camps. Their small size and character make them easy to transport and less intimidating than the average equine. Click here to learn more. |
