The miracle of Grace Baptist Church began on a cold Sunday afternoon almost 100 years ago when a small group of people met at the old Karns High School to form a church. From the beginning, a growing membership has created the need for an ever-expanding campus and ministries. The "Old Sanctuary," was dedicated in 1957 and was built adjacent to Oak Ridge Highway. Grace's education wing, which is now administrative offices, opened in 1961. The Family Life Center, containing classrooms, cafeteria and gym, opened in 1991. In 1994, God impressed upon Pastor Ron Stewart the need for a Christian school in the area, which Grace opened in the fall of 1997.
Today, Grace has two Sunday morning worship services that are attended by over 3,000 people every week. Easter and Christmas presentations are attended by almost 5,000 every year.
Grace Baptist Church has ministry services for preschoolers all the way to seniors. We also offer a variety of care and counseling services as well as our fully accredited K-12 school, Grace Christian Academy.
Our 8:45 and 10:30 a.m. time with our preschoolers is called CREATION STATION. During this time, children hear and experience Biblical truth in their group time. Parents are provided with engaging take home information that encourages pre-Christian conversations with their child.
Our Nursery (birth, crawlers, walkers . . .)
We utilize BOZ, the Green Bear Next Door curriculum to teach our preschoolers. Boz loves exploring God’s world and discovering exciting new things with his friends, their family and everyone in the neighborhood. Boz’s entertaining stories reinforce key educational concepts and the foundational faith values that as parents you are teaching your preschool children.

A: Grace has a "come as you are" atmosphere. You will see some dressed up; some dressed casual. We have no expectations for attire except to be modest.
Q: Do you have Sunday School?
A: Quality preschool and children's Bible teaching are available in a safe and secure environment. We take the safety and security of your child very seriously. Q: Does Grace Baptist Church have Preschool?
A: Yes, our Preschool Ministry provides programming for children birth to 5 years of age. We strive to create a safe, fun learning environment and believe it is possible to share the love of Christ with a child from the day of his or her birth. We have classes for birth to Pre-K, that incorporate music, Bible stories, crafts, and games.
Q: Do you have after school care?
A: Need a place for the children to stay until you get off work? We have just the place for you. Grace Place seeks to offer a safe Christian atmosphere where children can be loved, accepted, and cared for as an individual. Opportunities will be provided for children to grow and develop at their own pace intellectually, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Bible stories, scripture verses, and related emphasis will be included as a part of our child care program. The primary aim of the after school program is to make available to the community a safe Christian environment.
