On one of my many adventures on the Internet I read an article that had a bunch of parents commenting about how they’re trying to keep their kids away from videogames for as long as possible—sometimes to the age of eight. Sacrilege, I say!

Graduate School and Baby

I am a cautionary story. Do not, I repeat, do not volunteer yourself to have a baby while in graduate school. It’s bad enough to have a baby keep you up all night or pulling frequent all-nighters to finish a thesis, but both at the same time is terrible.

When Elle was a newborn I remember hearing our upstairs neighbor getting locked out of her apartment by her two-year-old son. I figured I’d never be in that potion, but I was wrong.

Why I Cleaned Up My Facebook Account When My Daughter Was Born

I like to think I was reasonably young when my daughter was born: 24. People are having kids older and older these days. While 24 sounds like a normal age to have kids I only had three friends at the time that already had kids—all lived out of state at the time. I felt a bit like a pioneer.
