Learning...Baby Steps

I'll continue on this bike topic since I'm riding to school every morning with my first grade son.

Today, he tried to mimic his father and waved at a friend. It didn't turn out well.

Wipeout...

He's okay and a little embarrassed.

He's also learning not to just slam on his brakes when riding in front of someone. I told him next time he needs to announce he is stopping so they have some warning and can avoid a wreck.

So what does he do today? He slammed on his brakes *AND THEN* turned around and said, "Dad, I'm stopping!"

On a different topic, my son was playing Lego's with a neighbor who, out of the blue, asked him if he believed in Jesus. Firstly, it's not usually a topic between a 5 and a 7-year old. Secondly, you have to love his response for what it implies. He told her, "Of course I do, I'm 7 you know."

Apparently in his mind, religious beliefs are like a driver's license or voting where age is a key factor.

I can't wait to hear what they talk about next.
