Leaving for school one morning I noticed a bright yellow dandelion sitting in the middle of the front lawn. I pointed it out to Julia and she ran over and picked it to bring to Big Girl School. Mason caught wind of his sister’s treasure and burst into tears.
Miss Julia strolled into the kitchen while I was making pancakes this morning. She wanted to help and pushed her little pink stool over to the counter.
At Mason’s first t-ball practice he was the only kid not wearing cleats. It didn’t really affect him, but when he came off the field I told him we would go get him a pair of baseball cleats later in the week.
Becky got Julia’s mermaid puzzle down from her closet. I am assuming after looking at it for a few minutes Miss Julia wandered off to find something more interesting.
I want my kids to have amazing memories of their childhood Christmases. And I think a few strings of lights on our old house is a good way to start the Christmas season.
Taco night is one of my favorite for two reasons. First, because white meat turkey tacos are amazing. Second, because it ensures both little people will actually eat dinner instead of filling up on crackers, marshmallows, and apple juice.
The kids are back at school everyday and that means one thing, diseases! I am pretty sure as soon as they stepped over the threshold their noses began running like tiny little faucets.
Tonight we decided to have breakfast for dinner. I popped some bacon in the oven and got the ingredients for pancakes out of the cabinet as little man strolled into the kitchen.
Summer vacation for Becky and the kids is officially over. This week marked the beginning of her planning week and the kids’ daily trek to Big Boy/Big Girl School.
Pickled. Rope. Bologna. Five pounds of the stuff packed in vinegar. Becky’s Uncle Jerry said it is good to eat with cold beer. Frankly, I am terrified to open it.
Miss Julia has scraggly hair. Wispy tendrils go off in all directions from her smiling little face each morning. I do my best to tame her hair before dropping her off at day care.
We took the recycling to the road. In one hand was a trash bag, and the other was a bag of empty bottles. Mason tagged along behind me carrying a Sprite bottle and an empty box of crackers.
It was a long day, and I was glad to be home. I had a cold beer in my hand and was rocking back and forth on the porch swing. I was very happy sitting there doing nothing.
Mason loves to play cars. He sits on the floor propped up on one hand and races them. One car moves forward, then he moves another to catch up, and then another.
