Joe Bastianich is best known for his role as a judge on FOX’s reality TV hit MasterChef, celebrating its upcoming fifth season, where he uses his know-how for deciphering culinary talent to search from among thousands of amateur home cooks to find America’s next MasterChef. One of America's premier restaurateurs, along with partners Mario Batali and his mother, Lidia Bastianich, he has established some of the country's most celebrated restaurants. In 2010 the trio teamed up with Italian retail pioneer Oscar Farinetti to bring Eataly, the world’s largest Italian artisanal marketplace to New York.
Considered to be America's foremost authority on Italian wine, he owns and operates three wineries in Italy.
He is an accomplished author whose passion for the culinary arts has been recognized with professional awards from Bon Appétit magazine and the James Beard Foundation. He has authored his memoir, Restaurant Man among several others including the award winning Vino Italiano with Restaurateur David Lynch. Joe is also a regular guest on the TODAY Show, where he shares his down to earth expertise in the world of wine.
