Brothers

This article, entitled Brothers comes from Jessica Rassette at bubandteebs.com.

Yesterday evening the boys were being themselves. Bub was rolling around on the floor, Teebs was rolling around on Bub, and occasionally I would bark out a "be careful!" or "someone is going to get hurt!" but they were just having too much brotherly fun for me to stop them. So I let them roll because I love how they love to be together. They love to be brothers.

Last Monday Teebs and I dropped Bub off at preschool and as Bub scattered into the room with the rest of the preschoolers Teebs wriggled from my arms with one firm twist and sprinted after brother. Bub gave him a quick goodbye and Teebs let out a blood curdling scream with wails that lasted all the way across the parking lot. Partly, Teebs just likes making a scene, but also I know that he misses his brother. So later, we squeezed in some brotherly time at the park.

And watching them play I started to realize just how close they are.

I love it. They love being brothers and I loooove it.

I love their individual personalities.

The little bits of spunk that come out when they are alone.

But I really, really love the mesh of brotherliness that explodes when they are together. In a word, it's just beautiful.

The weather has been waning, off and on, with tiny sprigs of fall creeping through for a day and then sweltering heat blazing everywhere the next. But we cherished this summer, and I feel ok with it ending.

I'm excited for Fall, for Bub to keep exploring in preschool, for Teebs to learn to enjoy just a little bit of time without Bub, and maybe even some cooler weather.

But for now it's still summer, and we'll take it.
