Recipe & Rhyme Bubbles

Do you need a recipe for summer fun? Bubbles are a great way to entertain the kids. So mix up some bubbles and get out-side singing this rhyme! You might even attract all the neighborhood kids. Enjoy!

Bubbles Recipe
You will need:
1/4 cup liquid dish soap
3/4 cup cold water
5 drops of glycerin (available in pharmacies)
Food coloring (optional)

Caroline Hepfler wants to inspire families to cook and laugh together in the kitchen. Each article includes a kid friendly recipe and a fun rhyme. So what are you waiting for? Lets start rhyming!

Steps to follow:
Gently stir and mix the water, soap and glycerin into a container with a cover. You can add a few drops of food coloring if you would like more color in your bubbles. Let the mixture stand for 4 hours. It will work sooner than 4 hours but the bubbles will be bigger and stronger if you wait. Go outside and use objects or bent pipe cleaners to dip into bubble mixture and create your bubble fun!

Now it’s time to get with the rhythm! When reading this rhyme, find a beat. Clap your hands or even stomp your feet!

Bubbles Rhyme
Billions of bubbles are billowing up to play, after all it is a nice day.
Bubbles are bouncing and hoping to stay, as long as the rain can keep away.
Billions of bubbles brighten up the sky. Wow, those bubbles sure can fly!
