This article, entitled Fall at the Farmers’ Market comes from Alison at thishomemadelife.com
Saturday morning I snagged my youngest boy and headed down to the farmers’ market. We left early, and found ourselves downtown just minutes after the ringing bell that signals the start of the market. Crowds are thinner at the fall markets. I suppose cooler mornings and the upswing of football game days and other fall activities leaves folks less time to make the trip.
For myself, I think this is the best time of year to attend. The produce is the perfect fusion of late summer and fall produce. Tomatoes and peppers mix with potatoes, the return of greens, pumpkins and apples. We came home with a little bit of everything. Our haul included fingerling potatoes, arugula, tomatoes, green onions, basil, Jona-Red and Fuji apples, mini pumpkins, eggs, and whole wheat bread.

And because I couldn’t help myself, I snapped a couple more pictures when we got home. I’m sort of in love with the ‘freckles’ on these eggs. They are just beautiful.
