Embrace life; you'll live longer.
Researchers at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York have been working on the Longevity Genes Project. They developed a questionnaire that was designed to screen for evidence of key personality traits. It was then given to 243 participants who were near 100 years old and of Eastern European Jewish descent.
The majority of the people surveyed had optimistic attitudes. They had active social lives and talked about their feelings and problems with their friends. The researchers believe that a carefree view of the world seems to lead to a long, happy life.
In case you're wondering, it's never too late to adopt a carefree approach to your life. It may just give you a few extra happy years.
