Ways to preserve fresh herbs

Alice Choi

How do you make fresh herbs last longer? And what do you do with the rest of the bunch when you only use a tablespoon at a time?

Food blogger Alice Choi from HipFoodieMom.com has the answer:

Refrigerating herbs

  • Fill a glass jar with cold water
  • Place the unchopped herbs upright in the jar
  • Cover the top of the jar with a plastic baggie
  • Store in the refrigerator for 1-2 weeks

Freezing herbs

  • Chop your herbs and place them in an ice cube tray
  • Cover the herbs with olive oil
  • Place in the freezer, at least overnight
  • Store in the freezer and pop out the cubes to season your dishes as needed
