Dinner Tonight - Swiss Steak Deluxe

We are making Swiss Steak Deluxe on this week's "Dinner Tonight." Watch some simple steps to an amazing dinner for your family.

Prep Time: 30 minutes
Cook Time: 8 hours
Serves: 6

Utensils Needed
Slow cooker
Can opener
Mixing bowls/spoons
Measuring cups/spoons
Knife/cutting board


  • 1 1/2 pounds round steak, trimmed and cut into 1 inch pieces

  • 1 (8 ounce) package sliced fresh mushrooms

  • 1 cup sliced onion

  • 1 cup sliced celery

  • 1 cup sliced bell pepper

  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic

  • 1 (8 ounces) can reduced sodium tomato paste

  • 1/2 cup water

  • 1 (14.5 ounces) can tomatoes with green chiles

  • 1 (.87 ounce) package brown gravy mix

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper


  1. In a 6 quart slow cooker, combine steak, mushrooms, onion, celery, bell pepper and garlic.

  2. In a medium bowl, combine all other ingredients. Pour over steak mixture. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4-5 hours.

  3. Serve on a bed of wild or brown rice.
