I have worked in the field of Family Services for 30-years for the original Father Flanagan’s Boys Home. Yes, Boy’s Town from the movie!

As the Director of Boys Town’s Common Sense Parenting® Program for Nebraska and Iowa, I bring an array of talent and experience to my position. I have worked with numerous parents and trained countless professionals worldwide. I am the co-author of the two award winning (National Parenting Publication, Golden Seal Award) Common Sense Parenting® books (Common Sense Parenting for parents of school-age children 3rd Edition, Common Sense Parenting for parents of toddlers and preschoolers) which have been translated into several languages.

My leadership and creativity have enabled me to assist in developing several Boys Town products. I have used my experience, knowledge and practical parenting skills to make the Common Sense Parenting® Program a versatile and evidence-based parent educational service, which provides parenting classes to over 10,000 families each year in the US. For over thirty years as a wife and mother, I have enjoyed working with families while finding time to occasionally act and illustrate children’s books (Making Friends is an Art).
