As we get ready for back-to-school, I'm getting ready to be a little more organized! I don't know about you but with all the extra activities coming up for all of us, I need more than a planner for help.
So this year I opted to create a DIY project: a painted chalkboard on the door that leads to our garage. I don't know about you but I can have a calendar, a list, a smart phone, yet I still forget something or the other!
Chalk it up to age? Maybe! Whatever the reason, I find myself in need of a daily reminder of things I need to do.
I found a paint by Rustoleum, had it custom-mixed to a royal blue color that matches the area rug in front of the garage exit door. I then found a poster frame that I put around the painted area and voilà - a thing of chalk beauty! I love it!
I shared my idea with a friend who thought it was silly. Why not buy a chalkboard and nail it to the door? I could have done that. But for me, it makes me feel good about doing something like that myself. Plus, where would I find a royal blue chalkboard to match my rug?!
Anyhow, if you're looking for a great, easy, do-it-yourself project, I would highly recommend it! Looking forward to using it and looking forward to my friend's reaction when she sees it too!
