I began taking the Christmas decorations down over the weekend. As I reluctantly removed each stocking from the mantle, I must admit to feeling a little melancholy.
Despite all the shopping, cooking and wrapping - I love the holidays and really don’t want to see the season end.
There's something about the spirit of giving that moves me, the lights and music that lifts me and the smiles on the kids faces that excite me.
Maybe it has something to do with all that egg nog and pie! Or it could be the thrill of hiding presents from my kids and hubby. Whatever it is...I wish I could bottle it up and save it for a rainy day.
I can tell it's going to be a good year!! I'm not setting any new resolutions though - I'll just continue to work on the old ones until I get them down: Eat healthier, exercise more, save more, enjoy my family more and try not to sweat the small stuff.
So....Here's to a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year!!
Lets make the most of it!! (and maybe even sing a Christmas carol or two in June)
Maybe I'll wait until next week to take the tree down (smile)
Until Next Time,
