Can someone hit the pause button?!?!?! I feel like the last week has been a whirlwind of traveling, family, food, gifts, and sleep deprivation! My family and I had a great Christmas, but I am so glad it is over!
I am one of those people, that when Christmas is over...it is over! I took the ornaments off my tree on Christmas night and by lunch the next day, every stitch of Christmas was gone. Bug (my daughter) kept asking me why I was taking down the Christmas decorations so soon (lol...I guess she wanted to keep them up). I just don’t like them hanging around too long. I know some people who keep their decorations up until after the New Year, but not at our house. I want everything put back in its place and organized. What can I say; I am a creature of OCD habit!
Now that the Christmas decor is down, it is time to move onto the New Year! It is time for sales on organizational systems and work-out wear (two of my favorite things)!!! I don’t make New Year’s resolution, I think they are just a waste of time and are a set-up for failure. Does anyone remember their resolutions from last year?!?! I think not!!! Instead of resolutions, I’ve decided to focus on a few tasks that have been neglected over the last few months.
1. Following my Weight-Watchers more closely. I still have a goal to hit (good-bye holiday food!)
2. Clean out my spare bedroom and make it functional (started yesterday, it was a crazy mess)
3. Make more time for family game night/movie night
4. Work on not over-scheduling or committing myself to tasks (the power of the word “no”)
Okay….I got nothing else!! I tried to come up with 5 items, but that isn’t going to happen. If I focus on too many things, I won’t accomplish any of them. I will remind you these are task I am focusing on, but they aren’t resolutions.
