This Thanksgiving I am trying something new. Since my family and I recently moved away from the rest of our other relatives, we are on our own for Thanksgiving.
This week I will attempt to make my own holiday dinner all by myself. I've never cooked a turkey, made green bean casserole or mashed potatoes on my own before.
Since I am lucky enough to have the day off of work, I am eager to give cooking this feast a try! I'm a little nervous that I may be in over my head, but I want it to be perfect and I want it to be just like what we've always enjoyed at my relative's house. I also want to prove it to myself that I can pull something off as big as this!
My husband, kids and I live close to my brother-in-law and his daughter, so we've invited them to our place to join us.
So, how do I get started? I have a list, I've pinned recipes on Pinterest and I've formulated the ideas in my head. I've also put the frozen turkey in the fridge to thaw.
I hope this is enough to get me through!
How do you plan your Thanksgiving dinner? When do you get started? Would I be better off taking my family to a Chinese buffet? :)
If I go through with this and it works, I will be sure to post pictures and give an update!
