Every summer my kids go to their grandparents lake house for a few days. This year it's 10 days!
Day one: I get a call from Jake, my 7 year old at 6:00 am. He's crying because his ear hurts and he misses his mommy. First of all HEARTBREAK! Secondly... what should I do? Go wake up Grandma Jake and get some Tylenol. He does that. Then Grandma calls and says they must get Jake to the doctor right away. I'm six hours away and feel helpless.
The next phone call comes several hours later. Jake has swimmers ear.. no swimming for 10 days and remember they are at the lake. Poor guy. But he's ok, he's just eaten 4 donuts:)
Today the kids start golf camp. Josie, my ten year old, calls to tell me she hit the ball 125 yards, and they gave her a "golf stick" to use during the camp. It's a 3 iron. She wanted a driver, but she said "I don't have my driver license" and laughs.
Jake is better.. he's putting and says he's made it 20 times so far. "I'm a really good golfer, mom"
I miss them like crazy.. Just 9 days left. What do I do with my time? I'm craving mac and cheese and hotdogs, but have no excuse to eat that.
