Kristina Uelk

Kristina Uelk is the host of MomsEveryday in Michiana.

Kristina Uelk became the host of MomsEveryday.com in Michiana in March 2011.

Born and raised in Ohio, Kristina moved to the Hoosier state to attend Indiana University in Bloomington where she earned her bachelor's degree in journalism.

Fresh out of college in 2001, she began her broadcasting career at WTHI-TV in Terre Haute, IN as a general assignment reporter/producer. While there, she met some amazing people who took her under their wing and showed her the ropes of the news business. After gaining a couple years of experience, Kristina moved to the South Bend area where she became a producer for WNDU. In both 2006 and 2007, Kristina was honored by the Indiana Associated Press for her work at WNDU.

Kristina and her husband, Ted, are having the time of their lives raising their 5-year-old son Brody and their Golden Retriever Macey. After nearly seven years at WNDU, in 2010, Kristina made the decision to leave her full-time job to become a stay-at-home mom. While raising an energetic preschooler is a lot different than life in the newsroom, Kristina finds that being at home with her son is both challenging and deeply rewarding. As a first time mom, she is embracing and learning from all the beautiful, comical, and sometimes stressful times that go hand in hand with parenthood.

In her spare time, she enjoys running, participating in triathlons, exploring new places, testing her cooking chops in the kitchen, and reading. Kristina also loves meeting new people and hearing their stories. One of her favorite quotes is "There are no such things as strangers, only friends that we have not yet met." She welcomes e-mails and ideas, so feel free to drop her a line at michianamoms@momseveryday.com.
