Fashion Trends on a Budget

Everywhere you shop, the maxi skirt or dress is in! But in my closet - it's still out! At 5' 2" I'm just too short. The longer lengths make me sweat just looking at them!

I'm no fashion expert but I do know what looks good on me and we all need to develop a good sense when it comes to fashion. Sometimes it's just trial and error!

If you're tall and lean, go for the maxi look! Stripes and florals are everywhere too. Stripes I can do. Florals too. But a little goes a long way, if you know what I mean! Florals can be tricky to wear - but a fun accent for summer.

Also, check out the straw accessories! From shoes to purses. I actually like this trend and will actually make it part of my fashion purchase this season.

Color blocking is another summer fashion trend where large swatches of fabric are mixed with matching colors. Again, a little bit of this goes a long way but I found it to be wearable. In fact, this trend can be found in shoes as well. Just purchased a pair of tan and black kitten heel pumps!

I guess what I'm trying to say here is you don't have to be a slave to every fashion trend. I love some of the new trends but just adding a few things here and there can completely update your wardrobe! But what I like best: these fashion trends can be affordable if you just shop around. They can be found anywhere - from K-Mart To Saks. From TJ Maxx to Nieman Marcus!

These days, it's very easy to be a fashionista without breaking the bank!
