There was a time when I thought there were definite ”do’s and don’ts” when it came to fashion (and age) that were to be strictly followed.
Now that I’m of a “certain” age, however, I have changed my mind. I actually think that fashion decisions should be based more on your body type than your age. For example, I still wear mini skirts (maybe I shouldn’t but I do)…but they aren’t mini skirts that barely cover my butt and I still follow the fingertip rule that I’ve pretty much followed my whole life (I put my arms down by my sides and wherever the tips of my fingers touch is where I make sure my hem is at least.)
When I was younger I heard the “rule” that when you got older, you shouldn’t have long hair but my hair is now longer than it was in my 20s and 30s.
Another “rule” I grew up believing is that when you hit your 50s, you couldn’t wear shorts any longer…well, that 50 mark will be here in less than a year for me and I know that I will still be wearing shorts! In my opinion, it doesn’t matter if you’re in your twenties, thirties, etc., the fashion “rule” you should follow is what looks best on YOUR body.
What do you think? And are there any absolute fashion rules you think women should follow?
