Class of 2017

My husband and I took our soon-to-be 14-year-old to registration night at what will be her high school next fall! My heart sunk when the head of school made the girls stand and she welcomed the class of 2017!

Twenty-seventeen? OMG, where have the years gone? And boy do I feel old!!

Our daughter, on the other hand, can't wait to get to high school and already has a list of colleges she'd like to visit!

Safe to say, I'm having a hard time with all this! My head is spinning! After she graduates I'm gong to be one of those empty-nesters! Yikes!

I just am not ready for all of this! Then - a reality check! After all, I'll be going through the teen years right along with her! Maybe I should be bracing for what will be coming my way: friend troubles; boy troubles; image woes; zits; my parents are truly annoying days. Most of all - hair woes!

Fortunately for me, she'll be wearing a uniform!

I think by 2017, I should be ready for graduation!
