DIY Home Scents

This article, entitled DIY Home Scents, comes from Pat Persaud, MomsEveryday blogger from Omaha, NE.

Woke up this morning to an awful mess in our puppy room! Quickly got to work cleaning the area up, and then some!

Not only did I mop the floors with ammonia and a nice-smelling household cleaner but went to work washing her beds! ( Yes, she has two washable beds!)

But, didn't stop there. Got a box of baking soda, opened it and left it on a shelf. Then opened the doors and windows for the fresh air to envelop the area! I'll be bathing my dog too!

I know I'm a clean-scent freak when it comes to my home. I just don't like walking into a home that smells like a barnyard! People with pets all too often forget that pet smells are strong and hard to get rid of if you're not thorough. Even without a pet, I just like good aromas!

Fall is a great time to just air out our homes. Turn the air off, open the window and let it freshen your home.

I really enjoy creating homemade room deodorizers too! I have a pot of water with a peeled orange, cinnamon sticks, nutmeg and vanilla boiling today. It's a great way to bring Fall into your home.

If you don't like the spices smell, just use lemon slices and a few sprigs of mint. How about rosemary, pine needles and apples? Just get creative and whip up the scents you love with ingredients from your kitchen pantry!

When it comes to deodorizing home scents, you don't have to spend a fortune! Just DIY - do it yourself!
