The Tree

Just remember, whether you're cutting it down yourself, selecting one from the lot down the street, or pulling the fake one out of the garage, let EVERYONE be involved, and make it memorable. Turn on a Christmas movie or Christmas music to get in the spirit of the holiday. Make some hot cocoa and watch the smiles go around the room. Simply ... just have some fun!

Make a Christmas Chain

Make each day in December an exciting one! Make a paper chain, using just strips of paper, and write out Dec. 1 through Dec. 31st. Then, for each day leading up to Christmas, write a special activity related to Christmas. If you have kids or it's just you, you'll be sure to wake up excited to see the next activity planned for each day of the month! Include traditional activities like singing Christmas carols, seeing
Santa, reading the Christmas Story, and making gifts for friends and family.

Random Acts of Kindness

Among all the hustle and bustle of the holidays, it's easy to forget
the reason we celebrate Christmas in the first place. So why not do a few random acts of kindness throughout the month? Buy someone's coffee behind you in the line at the coffee shop; bake some cookies for your neighbor; call up a friend and ask them to lunch, spontaneously, and take the bill. Even just a little compliment to a stranger on the street can bring a smile to someone's face - and bringing joy, peace and love is what the season is all about.

However you decide to celebrate this holiday season, make sure you do it as a family. Whether you’re a small family or a large family, you will get the most out of the holiday season if it is spent together.
