I have been dreading writing this blog for the past few weeks. This is my last “official” blog as the host of Moms Everyday (don’t cry)! I actually don’t like goodbyes, they seem too finite and complete. I prefer, “see you later”. The truth is I am not going anywhere; I am just changing job paths. From television to teaching (can we say 180 degree change).
I am so thankful for Moms Everyday. When I took the position as Moms Everyday Host, I was incredibly nervous and fearful! My past experience with television was completely behind the camera. I was comfortable writing and producing a newscast, but stepping in front of the camera was a whole new world for me! I am thankful that the management at WBKO took a chance with me and the entire staff was there to support me. What an amazing adventure it has been! My first few interviews were painful (go back and watch them if you want, actually please don’t)!!! The nerves definitely showed, but after a few weeks I began to settle in to my new role (I think)!!
While I wasn’t crazy about seeing myself on television every day, I loved being able to write again!! I have loved sharing and doing life with other moms! Through my blog, I have been able to share my ups and downs. I have received some great advice, encouragement, and even some criticism through the years. I am thankful for each and every person who has e-mailed, commented, or stopped me on the street to talk about Moms Everyday. I am completely humbled by the love and grace you have shown me! Thank you for inviting me into your home every day!!! Being a mom is one of the biggest blessing, but also one of the biggest challenges. Moms Everyday has afforded me the ability to reach out to moms in the area and been a great resource for me personally! They say it takes a village to raise a child and I believe it!! I am not sure what I am going to do without all of you fellow moms and your wonderful advice.
I am also thankful for all of the partners/experts I have worked with over the past 2 years. You made my job easy and enjoyable. Your wealth of information and insight has been a true blessing for Moms Everyday and South Central Kentucky! Thank you for seeing the benefit of Moms Everyday! I will miss each and every one of you tremendously!!
Many of you have asked if I am going to continue to write/blog. Honestly, I am not sure. I am going to take a few weeks off and then I will see. I would love to continue the adventures of Bug, but only time will tell! You all will be the first to know if I do!
So I guess this is “see you later”, not goodbye! After all, I am not going anywhere! Bowling Green is home! It is where my husband (Ben) and I plan to raise our daughter (Bug). What a wonderful place it is too!!!
Thanks for your love, support, and encouragement. Many blessings to you and your families!
