Skipping Breakfast?

I don't know about you but I found myself running out the door without eating breakfast.

I don't do that because I' trying to lose weight. It's more because I need to get my daughter to school early and just have not been an early morning eater!

But health experts tell us breakfast is important to kick-starting our metabolism and sets us up for eating better, not snacking our way through the morning.

I also learned from the experts that when we don't eat breakfast within an hour after waking, our bodies will start storing fat! That inspired me to stop skipping breakfast!

Now, I don't hibernate (much) so I don't need to start my day off storing fat! So I've started to think of my body as I do my car that I use so early in the morning. My body, like my car, needs fuel to start.

I've come up with a few quick breakfast ideas that any of us can use. Some of these you can prepare the night before, like cutting-up an apple and curving some cheddar cheese. I take that with me in the car in a sandwich bag and have breakfast on the go.

Another idea? A plain doughnut. And a handful of almonds! I've been loading-up on Planter's pumpkin spice almonds - my new favorite.

I've also boiled up eggs the night before. Peel them and store in the fridge for a quick breakfast too.

So far, breakfast on-the-go is working!
