Doing something good has even more benefits than just doing the right thing!
A study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association found that men between the ages of 43 and 61 had fewer heart attacks and strokes when they donated blood every six months.
And an additional study published in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute found that those who gave bi-annual blood donations had a lower incidence of cancer and mortality than those who didn't due to decreased iron levels in their blood.
Plus, donating blood was also found to burn a large amount of calories. Experts estimate up to 650 calories per pint.
