Did you ever think about the fact that the purses we carry around as women tell a lot about who we are? Not only the style and color of the purse we chose to wear but also what is inside our purse and how tidy we keep it. As women most of us are pretty particular about the kind of purse we carry because we feel it is a reflection of who we are and the type of style and personality we have. There is even a quiz to tell you what your purse says about you:
I took the quiz and to my surprise I am a High Street Honey! One of the qualities of a High Street Honey is “You constantly change your bag to suit your mood – it reflects your fast-paced lifestyle: multiple choice is the name of the game!”

What got me to thinking about the power of our purses was that I recently met the owners of “Chaume”, a very unique purse business started by two women, Mollie Thiry and Mandy Rhodes. The purses they created have interchangeable accessories, such as scarfs and belts they also have insulated and collapsible bags. Mollie and Mandy understand the need women have to make sure that your personality and lifestyle is reflected in the purse that you wear every day. You can view their many styles of purses and purse accessories at the Chaume website: http://www.mychaume.com. My personal favorite is the Volcano Signature Tote with the Puppy Tooth Belt!
Once you have chosen the perfect purse that exudes your personality then it’s time to take a look inside your purse to find out what it says about your financial personality! I know this part is a bit like the golden rule of never going in another women’s purse — a rule most husbands know of very well. The truth is, though, that a purse cluttered up with old receipts, misplaced business cards, and a messy wallet can be an indication that we are not being proactive with our finances. It could mean that my financial personality as indicated by the inside of my purse would not match up with the outside personality that has declared me a High Street Honey!
So the next time you are deciding on which purse to buy or wear – remember that what is inside is just as important in reflecting your personality as the outside. Keeping organized reflects the benefits of being proactive and maintaining financial habits that don’t clutter up the inside of that purse and allows the outside to scream your unique personality as well. Holding to good financial habits can:
So wear that purse proudly from the inside out and know that when you take care of the inside of your purse it is truly an expression of how you take care of your money and yourself on the outside. That is a pretty powerful message we send to others and ourselves with our purses!
