Tiptoeing Won’t Make You Tired

This article, entitled Tiptoeing Won’t Make You Tired comes from Michael Bonfanti's blog at Black Coffee & Bourbon.

It was a long day, and I was glad to be home. I had a cold beer in my hand and was rocking back and forth on the porch swing. The small porch fountain was gurgling and our dachshund sat on the porch watching Miss Julia piddle around the yard. I was very happy sitting there doing nothing.

“Daddy, let’s play.”

“I don’t want to play buddy. Daddy is beat. Play with your sister.”

He stood there, looking at me. I could tell he was trying to come up with something good, he did not disappoint.

“Daddy, let’s tiptoe, okay? Tiptoeing doesn’t make you tired. We can tietoe past the monsters.”

“What monsters?” I said.

“The ones in the front yard” he said as he grabbed my hand and lead me off the porch.

For the next 15 minutes we tiptoed past the monsters in the front yard. Miss Julia joined us some of the time, but for the majority I followed little man. Eventually Mason got tired and announced he needed lemonade because tiptoeing was hard work and made him thirsty. I had fun sneaking past the imaginary monsters, and I am happy he convinced me to join him on his adventure.
