Oatmeal Topping Bonanza
I don't know about you but I look forward to a nice warm breakfast to fill me up during the winter months. Oatmeal is a nutritional option that fills that need and has the opportunity to be “kicked up a notch" through various toppings and additions.
Ingredients
apple, cinnamon, graham crackers, vanilla yogurt
peanut butter, cinnamon, walnuts
canned pumpkin, pumpkin pie spice, ginger, flax seed
blueberries, cinnamon, granola, berry yogurt
sunflower seeds, dried cranberries, nuts, lemon yogurt
peaches, slivered almonds, vanilla or peach yogurt
Directions
Apple Pie AlaMode: 1/2 cup chopped apple, cinnamon, 1 crumbled square graham cracker, vanilla yogurt
Peanut Butter Roast: 2 T. peanut butter, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 2 T. walnuts or preferred nuts,**
** Cook Peanut Butter, cinnamon with the oatmeal, adding nuts once cooked
Pumpkin Pie: 3 T. canned pumpkin,l/3 tsp pumpkin pie spice, l/3 tsp ginger, flax seed
Berry Good: l/2 c. Blueberries, frozen or fresh, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 2 T. granola, Berry Yogurt
Trail Mix: 2 T. sunflower seed, l/4 c. cranberries, dried, 2 T. nuts, lemon yogurt
Peaches and Cream: l/2 c. chopped canned, frozen, or fresh peaches, 2 T. almonds, slivered, Vanilla or Peach Yogurt
Cook favorite oatmeal, and add toppings. Stir in, or enjoy "on top"
