The Independent Insurance Agents of Nebraska (IIAN) is a statewide non-profit trade organization representing over 550 independent insurance agencies and their employees. First organized in 1907 as the "Nebraska Association of Local Insurance Agents," IIAN is affiliated with the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America (IIAA), with offices in Alexandria, Virginia and Washington, D.C.  IIAA represents a network of over 220,000 agents and their employees nation-wide.

IIAN member agencies are independent businesses that can represent more than one insurance company, actively engaged in the property/casualty insurance business.  IIAN associate members are other businesses or individuals associated with the insurance industry and dedicated to the principles of the American Agency System.  IIAN Members subscribe to the Code of Ethics of the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America.
