Spring Planting Season Arrives

The spring planting season has already arrived at Finke Gardens as boxes of unrooted cuttings were delivered Tuesday. The entire staff joins in the "sticking" process as tiny stems are dipped in rooting hormone, inserted in rooting media, then placed in a giant tented mist chamber with bottom heat on the bench. This is the first step in producing the highest quality plants for sale at Finke Gardens. We'll update you on their progress over the next few months as we work toward the frost-free planting date in early May.

One of the new coleus introductions is Wasabi. We trialed it last year in both sun and shade environments and it performed beautifully. It didn't burn in full sun conditions like many chartreuse plants will and it had a compact, tidy habit.
