I didn't realize how much tender loving care it takes to get a tree to grow. I thought nature took care of all of that and all we had to do was spread some mulch under it occasionally and trim low hanging branches occasionally.
But lately, we have a lot of sick trees - even some dead trees! What happened?
We've been bagged by worms! Seems our trees have been infected with bagworms! Never heard of them before! A tree doctor diagnosed the problem for us after losing, replanting, and again losing trees! It's also been a pricey ordeal.
Seems we need to spray for all sorts of tree insects and disease. Who knew? Well, now we know and are taking care of the problem.
I'm a little concerned about the spraying - whether it's enviromentally safe. I've been assured it's safe but you really need to get it done by people who know what they're doing!
I've also learned timing is key to successful treatment. Here's hoping I can put a stop to the pesky bagworm but there are other boring insects and diseases out there that threaten our tree health!
So, be aware: trees need TLC!
