Is It Worth It? - Yoshi Blade

The Yoshi Blade is supposed to be the world’s best ceramic knife. It’s said to be ten times sharper than a conventional knife and it won’t rust or peel over time.

The Yoshi Blade is a knife intended for slicing only. The instruction manual says it cannot be used for chopping, cutting frozen foods, meats with bones or on any hard surface because of risk to chipping the ceramic blade. Also, the knife is NOT dishwasher safe.

During the test, cutting a tomato went smoothly, but a boneless chicken breast wasn’t as easy to slice. Surprisingly, slicing French bread wasn’t too difficult even though the knife isn’t serrated.

The package also includes a peeler, which worked well enough on a carrot, but probably no better than a standard metal peeler.

So, is it worth it? Maybe.

For about $20, you get a knife that performs fairly well as long as you don’t put it in the dishwasher or chip the blade, which cannot be re-sharpened.
