About Us

Primrose Schools is a national, high-quality early education and care provider made up of a family of dedicated leaders. Primrose serves children, families and communities in more than 350 accredited schools across the country. Through our research-informed Balanced Learning® approach, we provide meaningful learning experiences for children beginning at 6 weeks of age. The curriculum in our classrooms for infants, toddlers, preschool, pre-kindergarten and after-school not only inspire a love of learning but also empower children’s potential preparing them for lifelong success.
Each Primrose school is independently owned and operated by Franchise Owners, who partner with parents to help children build the right foundation for future learning and life, and offer an environment that helps children have fun while nurturing Active Minds, Healthy Bodies and Happy Hearts®.

How is Primrose School of Middleton different from other early education and child care centers?
We believe that who children become is as important as what they know, and that belief is at the core of everything we do at Primrose. We focus on helping children develop not only intellectual skills, but also creative, physical, character and life skills through our exclusive Balanced Learning® approach. It is used in Primrose schools across the country and the innovative curriculum and methods are proven to work, as Primrose Schools has excelled in preparing students for elementary school and beyond through high-quality, fun and educational experiences for more than 30 years.

We also offer a unique parent partnership called 360 Parenting. We know children benefit from consistent, safe and nurturing environments, so we partner with families to extend and reinforce these concepts at home. We do our best to support parents as much as possible, from providing them with updates on their child’s progress to sharing tips and tricks on our parenting blog.
At Primrose, we believe in giving back to our community. Our Primrose Promise™ program is focused on creating a brighter future for all children – especially those in need. We are committed to improving the lives of children and families in the communities we serve, and do this by hosting events throughout the year that raise money for local charities and our national nonprofit partners, Save the Children and Reach Out and Read,  through child sponsorship, book donations and other efforts.

More Than a Curriculum
Balanced Learning is research-informed and combines the best thinking of renowned early learning philosophers like Montessori, Piaget, Gesell and Vygotsky along with modern wisdom from the latest child development studies. Research shows that introducing a skill when a child is truly ready leads to mastery instead of frustration.

Then, building on that skill to learn the next one comes naturally. And learning becomes just, so much fun! Before you know it, you have a confident child who loves learning. And what could be more rewarding than that?

Primrose School of Middleton has chosen a local charity recipient!
The “Friends of Katie Barrios” fund and the Primrose Children’s Foundation/Save the Children that will receive a hundred percent of the proceeds from our 2017 Spring Fling Event! It is an honor to introduce Middleton Police Officer Katie Barrios and the story that has touched so many of us at Primrose as well as the Middleton Community! We want to not only keep Officer Barrios in our daily thoughts but show here family that the Primrose Family is here to help them in the difficult journey they are on.
Meet Middleton Police Officer Katie Barrios and her family, including husband, Joe (decorated Iraq war veteran and Philadelphia, PA police officer), and children, Cole (19), Samantha (15), Joey (5), and Abigail (4).  Like so many, Katie’s family is her world.
Katie is a vibrant, cheerful, charismatic, funny, and lovable wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend.  She lights up a room when she enters it, and you only need to meet her once to fall in love with her.

A 17-year law enforcement veteran, Katie was getting ready for work on the evening of January 8th, when she collapsed.  Katie ultimately found herself at the University of Wisconsin – Madison hospital where she learned she had a large mass on her brain.  Katie endured eight hours of brain surgery the following day, and was diagnosed with Grade IV Glioblastoma – a very aggressive, malignant brain tumor.  Katie began treatment on February 13, 2017, including radiation followed by chemotherapy.
Katie has only been with the City of Middleton Police Department for five months, but has already greatly impacted the Middleton Community.  Katie worked for the Warminster Police Department, a suburb of Philadelphia, the Mt. Horeb Police Department in Mt. Horeb, WI and she began her 17-year law enforcement career with the Iowa County Sheriff’s Department, Dodgeville WI in 2001.  She recently returned to WI to be closer to her family.

Prior to learning of her illness, Katie dreamed of taking her family to Disney.  With your help, “Primrose School of Middleton” would like to help make that happen, and will help with medical expenses along the way. We teach our children to have a caring and generous character, help us as we continue to set that example for them.
