Mr. Appliance of North Central Indiana FAQ

Q: Why does it cost so much?
A: All of our technicians receive formal training in appliance repair. Additionally, most requests for service are scheduled for the same day or the very next day. When a technician works on your appliance he will give you a price before starting the work. Neither the price of the part nor the amount of time spent is a major factor. You are paying for knowledge to repair your appliance properly and our ability to return if any work under warranty is necessary. We provide a 1 year warranty on parts and labor.
Q: Why does my washer smell so bad?
A: Are you using the proper soap? Or to much soap? It is important to use HE soap if it is specified for your machine, and try not to use to much. Soap build up is the one of the main causes for smell. There are some great products out there that can be use to clean your machine. We recommend Affresh.
Q: Why are my clothes taking so long to dry?
A: If your is taking several cycles to dry your clothes it is most often related to venting. A dryer vent should not exceed 30ft. Keep in mind every elbow (curve) is calculated at 5ft. Example: One elbow through the floor another connecting to a straight run of 15ft. and one more elbow to the exterior vent... your venting is considered 30ft long. It might not "look" long but it is. Also vinyl (plastic) venting in dangerous, please replace this style of venting as soon as possible.
Q: What do I do if I put dish soap in my dishwasher?
A: If you notice you have suds in your dishwasher or put the wrong soap in it. Don't panic, just add a few tablespoons of vegetable oil, and run the dishwasher. You may need to repeat this. The oil will give the soap something to work on, and thereby eliminate the suds.
Q: Why is my fridge not cooling as well?
A: Gently vacuum, and use a soft brush (there are special brushes available) to clean under the refrigerator. If you have pets this is especially important, and should be done at least once a year. When we clean your refrigerator coils, we will give you a brush for doing this.
