Ice Athletic Center FAQ

Q: As a beginner, how many times a week should I workout?
A: ICE recommends your first week to start at 3 days. Weeks following you would increase 1 day per week. We suggest that you should have 1 day of rest per week.
Q: Which type of workout should I do, weights or cardio?
A: A mix of the two is essential for results.
Q: What should I wear?
A: "It's not a fashion show at ICE" Comfortable clothing and a good pair of tennis shoes. Most people in the gym wear sweat pants or shorts, and a comfortable T-shirt. For women of course a sports bra is very important as well.
Q: If I use free weights will I bulk up? (woman)
A: No. Free weights you use more muscles than say a weight machine. Using the proper weight you will have a leaner, toned body. By using free weights you are burning more calories because you are targeting major muscles.
Q: How much does it cost to be a member?
A: It's less than $2.00 a day. Skip fast food, and your mocha latte vente, and your membership is paid for. Check out the discount coupon posted. We are giving you a jump start.
