About Us

The Peoples Bank Theatre in historic downtown Marietta, Ohio, previously named the Hippodrome Theatre and Colony Cinema, will once again open it's doors to the public at a grand opening in January 2016.  Construction is on schedule to be completed in November 2015. The newly restored theatre will once again show live acts such as Off-Broadway shows, musicians and concerts, comedians, magic acts, cultural events, local theatre and more. The theatre's full orchestra pit could also accommodate musicals and opera. The theater will also show movies on the big screen such as theme nights of Gone with the Wind or The Wizard of Oz. Additionally, the stage and facility will be available to the local community for rentals for events such as recitals, speakers, competitions, corporate events, graduations, weddings and more.

The Hippodrome Colony Historical Theatre Association is still seeking donations.  These contributions will go towards the start up costs and final AV equipment costs.  Any donation is greatly appreciated. More info can be found on the website at PeoplesBankTheatre.com; or by calling Hunt Brawley, Director, at 740-373-0894.  The Peoples Bank Theatre is currently accepting applications for volunteers to be ushers, ticket takers and more.
