Theatre de Jeunesse, Incorporated is a 501(c)(3) non-profit theatre arts organization offering free arts education and performance opportunities for Mid-Ohio Valley high school youth. The organization is incorporated and licensed in West Virginia, and is governed by a five member Executive Board. The program is operated by the Executive Board and a small staff of committed and experienced artists and teachers. The staff shares a love of theatre and has consistently demonstrated the talent and temperament required to work with creative young people while maintaining excellence in educational and performance standards. Theatre de Jeunesse will annually provide a theatre arts educational and performance opportunity free of charge for Mid-Ohio Valley high school youth. Mid-Ohio Valley professional artists will provide the directorial, musical, technical (set, lighting, sound, props), costume, and makeup/hair instruction and support required for the production. During the rehearsal period, professional guest artists will provide in-depth workshops focusing on one area of the theatre arts, and raising students’ awareness of potential career opportunities in the theatre arts and related fields. Technical students will assist the Technical Director in the design and creation of the set, props, lights, and sound for the production, and provide the backstage and light rail support for the production. Students interested in Costuming will assist the Costumers in the research, design, and construction of costumes.
