The Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare’s 24th Annual Tee Off for Tots Golf Tournament will be held on Monday, October 23 and the associated Par-Tee & Raffle on Sunday, October 22, to benefit the Proctor Endowment for Children with Diabetes and the Tallahassee Memorial Children’s Center.
Diabetes is a chronic illness that has no cure. Children as young as two years are among the millions of Americans who suffer from this life-threatening disease. Therefore, the Proctor Endowment’s funding is of vital importance to the TMH Physician Partners, Metabolic Center’s (formerly the Tallahassee Memorial Diabetes Center) education, detection and treatment programs – where children and their families receive both medical and emotional support.
Since the health care needs of children are not limited to diabetes, proceeds from the Par-Tee & Raffle and Golf Tournament will be shared with the Tallahassee Memorial Children’s Center. The Tallahassee Memorial Children’s Center includes a team of pediatric critical care physicians, nurses, and a certified child life specialist, a 10-bed pediatric intensive care unit, a 23-bed pediatric unit, specialized pediatric therapy services – physical/speech/activity and the 4-bed Kid’s Korner outpatient unit.
