About Us

To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.

We are a powerful association of men, women and children joined together by a shared commitment to nurturing the potential of kids, promoting healthy living and fostering a sense of social responsibility. We believe that lasting personal and social change can only come about when we all work together to invest in our kids, our health and our neighbors. That’s why, at the Y, strengthening community is our cause. Every day, we work side-by-side with our neighbors in 10,000 communities to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.

The Y is the nation’s leading nonprofit committed to strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.

The Y makes accessible the support and opportunities that empower people and communities to learn, grow and thrive. With a focus on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, the Y nurtures the potential of every youth and teen, improves the nation’s health and well-being, and provides opportunities to give back and support neighbors.

There is no other nonprofit quite like the Y. That’s because in 10,000 neighborhoods across the nation, we have the presence and partnerships to not just promise, but to deliver, lasting personal and social change.

• The Y is community centered. For nearly 160 years, we’ve been listening and responding to our communities.

• The Y brings people together. We connect people of all ages and backgrounds to bridge the gaps in community needs.

• The Y nurtures potential. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.

• The Y has local presence and national reach. We mobilize local communities to effect lasting, meaningful change.

The Y is, and always will be, dedicated to building healthy, confident, connected and secure children, adults, families and communities. Every day our impact is felt when an individual makes a healthy choice, when a mentor inspires a child and when a community comes together for the common good.

Family Fun Night
Join us for 2 hours of board games, pizza, drinks and quality time together. Students Working Against tobacco and the Y are partnering to bring this wonderful family activity to members and non-members every other month.  The energetic Y Leader’s Club will be hosting and available to play games too! It will cost $15 per family (anyone that lives in your household) and include the games and dinner for everyone.  Feel free to bring your own games too.

Healthy Kids Day
At a time when nearly 75 percent of kids ages five to 10, do not get the recommended 60 minutes of physical activity each day, Healthy Kids Day is more important than ever.  Healthy Kids Day activities help improve the nation’s health and well-being, and strengthen family and community bonds.  It’s part of the Y’s commitment to healthy living and our promise to help build healthier, stronger home environments.
